FOOD – that which nourishes, grows and repairs our bodies and sustains us – is essential for life. Many of us have developed complicated relationships with food. Beliefs, habits, ideas and emotions may have clouded clear thinking about how to best feed yourself. Ever-changing, conflicting information about “nutrition” emerging at a rapid speed only adds to the confusion.

The good news is that this challenging situation offers an opportunity to return to simplicity and to well-being. You are an expert when it comes to your child – you know your child better than anyone else does. It’s also true that, as parents, we can feel so worried about our children in general, and extra-ordinary challenges can send us into terror. As a child in the 1950’s, I was extremely ill, with allergies, emotional imbalances, and auto-immune disorders. I learned as an adult how to release the past, trust myself, and deal with negativity and fear in a healthy way. It’s amazing how simple and clear life becomes when we are not driven by fear and doubt. I also learned how to eat foods that nourished my body, and avoid foods and other toxins that were detrimental to my health. In this way, I was able to parent my own children effectively and confidently.

In addition to my education and experience in Wellness and Nutrition, I have a B.Sc. in Child Development, held K-12 teaching credentials for many years, and did graduate work in the field of Preschool Special Education. I have worked extensively with children and families in various educational and therapeutic settings for over 30 years. Prior to creating a private practice, I worked in North Carolina to improve the quality of childcare, including nutrition, for children birth-five in licensed programs, and facilitated parent-child enrichment programs.

Equally important, I have 2 grown daughters, and 1 awesome grandson, who gift me with the honorable title of “Mom” and “Grandma”. They are my greatest teachers in the art of well-being – allowing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance.

My own health challenges, as well as my educational background and work experience, fuel my passion for supporting the wellness needs of all children, especially those with health, behavior and learning challenges. And when you as parents receive support for your own self-care and well-being, everybody wins! By providing whole food nutrition for your family, and addressing the mental-emotional aspects inherent in any health challenge, you can create effective, sustainable change.

Based on the premise that unresolved emotions can compromise our potential for happiness, EFT began as an effective remedy for phobias, addictions and war trauma. Inspirational Breath uses conscious breathing as a healing modality that can lead to powerful and expansive personal and transpersonal insights. The emotional, physical and spiritual effects of this work awaken us to living with intention, love and joyful expression.

We invite you to experience Inspirational Breath as a unique form of breath-work inspired by the dolphins who model conscious breathing, living in the moment, community, playfulness and a heightened capacity for communication.

As humans we are both involuntary and voluntary breathers. We often begin to contract and hold back our breath at a young age, allowing it to become primarily an autonomic, rather than a conscious, process. By doing this, we under-oxygenate our bodies.

In breath work, oxygenating our cells enlivens every part of our brains and bodies, allowing us to experience our wholeness. Inspirational Breath can help us move more freely and open to healing present issues, past traumas, as well as parts of ourselves that are not conscious. In my experience, this method reaches into areas that traditional, and many other forms of therapy, are unable to touch.

Whether in a workshop or private session, breath journeys combine accelerated breathing with music in a space consciously created for comfort, beauty and safety. People surrender only to that which they are ready to integrate. In this way, Inspirational Breath Work is very gentle and safe.
